Wendy Gonyea is a member of the Beaver Clan of the Onondaga Nation. She is actively involved in education and in speaking and writing on behalf of her community. She is a former Social Studies/Counselor at the Onondaga Nation School and former editor of the Onondaga Nation News. Wendy’s poetry was included in the premier edition, 2007 of stone canoe, a Journal of Upstate New York. She works in support of Native youth, coordinating scholarships on their behalf. She stays connected with indigenous issues and supports artists in Central New York working with Arts Across Borders. She is a freelance writer.
